To begin with, i name this forest preservation journey i'm on — 108 Forests.

108 is a fascinating number. There are at least 3 stories about it that i like:

  1. The average distance between Earth and the Sun is 108 times the sun's diameter. The average distance from the Earth to the Moon is 238,800 miles, about 108 times the moon's diameter. This makes it so that moon appears the same size as the sun during eclipses.

  2. It is the hyper factorial of 3: 1122331^1 *2^2 * 3^3

  3. 1 = Unity, 0 = emptiness, 8 = infinity

Hence, one of my missions is to contribute to protecting 108 old-growth forests, each over 108 ha, meeting the set preservation criteria.
